Usually when it looks rainy you stay home and watch tv or something. I've had this location in mind for quite some time and I've been waiting for the right weather. There was some nice stormy looking clouds on the sky so I tought I'll give it a go. I managed to get few shots before the sky went plain gray and it started to rain too much. I even saw one lightning but no thunderstorm..

Using ND400 (9-stop neutral density) filter usually gives interesting hue to the pictures as a side effect compared to shooting without one. With such low light conditions and ND400 filter I could have used ridicilously long exposures but due to sideways moving clouds I didn't want the exposure be too long. I used reasonable f-stop which allowed me to exposure for 'only' 60 secs

I hope you like it!

Great shot Toope, I love the lengths you go to to get the shot you want.
great colours and atmosphere :)
Very interesting shot. The movement in the clouds adds a lot to the image.

Just today someone asked me what the purpose of the ND1000 filter was. Too bad I see this so late...
Lovely shot and a wonderful location!
